What cookies are
Cookies and similar technologies - including browser and local storage - are small pieces of information a website asks your browser to keep. Some are needed for the site to work properly. Others are optional and help us understand how the site is used.
Our promise
Optional cookies and analytics do not run before you make a choice. If you decline, nothing optional is loaded - no analytics cookies, and no cookieless analytics measurement either. Declining doesn't limit any part of the site.
CookieHub, our consent provider, runs before you make a choice because it is needed to display and record your cookie preference. It may set a necessary consent cookie and make a request to its service for this purpose. It is not used for analytics or advertising.
Categories
Necessary - always on. Used only where necessary to operate the site securely or remember a choice you have made. These don't need consent because the site can't work properly without them.
Analytics - only with your consent. Helps us count visits and see which pages are read.

The consent cookie is set when you first arrive, before you make a choice, so that we can record your decision and avoid asking again on every page. The cookie stores your consent preferences and a pseudonymous reference token. It does not contain your name, email address or contact details.
Cookie names and lifetimes can change when a provider updates its technology. We check the live site and correct this table where the deployment differs.
Google Analytics
If you consent, we use Google Analytics 4 loaded through Google Tag Manager to measure visits, page views and which pages are read. Advertising features and Google Signals are switched off.
We configure GA4 to retain user- and event-level analytics data for 14 months. Aggregated reporting may remain available for longer.
Who else is involved
CookieHub provides the consent banner and records your choice. Their systems are at cdn.cookiehub.eu and consent-eu.cookiehub.net.
Changing your mind
Use Cookie settings in the footer. A withdrawal applies from that point onwards. You can also clear cookies in your browser, which may cause the banner to appear again.
Browser controls
Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies. Blocking everything may stop the site remembering your preference, so you'd be asked each visit.
